Mohamed Ismail: We look positively at the French initiative

ARK News: A member of the presidential body of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, Mohammed Ismail, said that the Council is looking positively at the French initiative for rapprochement between the Council and the Democratic Union Party, calling on the PYD also to consider positively this initiative.

In his participation during the ARK Bulletin, which aired on Monday 20.05.2019, Ismail said that they in the Kurdish National Council agreed to the French initiative, and he believes that the other party (PYD) has also agreed to that initiative, and they are waiting now to implement the preparation of the atmosphere before entering into any process of dialogue between the two parties.

Ismail revealed that the two parties would present their observations to the third party in order to create conditions such as the release of detainees, the reopening of the Council's offices and components, the freedom of political activities, the media and the press, the property seized by PYD, etc. This is required in the side of the PYD, either what is the responsibility of the Council in order to create an atmosphere, Ismail added "We do not have any PYD detainees and we have not committed any violations against them. We have only the media and we are committed at this stage to inform us in order to create the atmosphere.”


The administrative official of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria Mohammed Ismail, said that the details of the preparation of the atmosphere are not a condition, but the key to dialogue, and after the start of the dialogue each party will provide its comments and demands to the other party.
